FAQ

Do I need to replace PostHog?
No. Keep PostHog for analytics and funnels. Folio sits on top — it reads your events, finds at-risk cohorts, and returns approved copy via the decisions API. Forward events with our PostHog webhook or use the Folio SDK alongside your existing stack.
What surfaces does Folio deliver today?
Banner, modal, and dashboard card — via the decisions API or drop-in React components. Folio returns copy and CTAs; your app renders them. Push, email, and other channels are planned; we don't send messages on your behalf yet.
Do you charge per user?
No. One flat price — track as many users as you want. The whole point of Folio is that your costs don't scale with your user count.
What counts as an event?
Each track() call and each row from a PostHog webhook counts as one event. identify() requires an active plan but does not count toward your event limit.
What counts as a decision served?
Each time Folio returns copy + a CTA to your app via getDecision() and logs a serve. Holdout control impressions are not billed. Fetching null (no matching recommendation) is free.
What counts as an intelligence run?
Each time Folio proposes cohorts and drafts recommendations — manual Run intelligence or the daily cron. Approving drafts does not count; generating them does.
What payment methods do you accept?
Card via Stripe at checkout. Monthly or annual — annual gets you two months free. Cancel from the billing portal anytime.
Can I bring data from PostHog or Segment?
Yes — PostHog webhook forwarding is included on every plan, and historical backfill is rolling out so your trial starts with context instead of an empty event stream.
Is the SDK open source?
Yes — our JS and Node SDKs ship under MIT. The intelligence engine that runs on top is the part you pay for.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. One click. We keep your data for 30 days in case you come back.
