Privacy Policy

Folio is an intelligence layer for product retention. To work, we ingest the behavioural events your product sends us. We don't sell anything to anyone, and we don't train shared AI models on your data.

What we collect

• Account data: your email, name, workspace name, logo, accent color.
• Customer events: the events you forward to our ingestion API — event names, properties, and the distinct ids you assign. You decide what to send; avoid putting personal data in event properties unless you have a lawful basis.
• Identity traits: anything you pass to identify(), usually email + plan. We store the latest snapshot per user.
• Operational data: timestamps, IP addresses for rate-limiting and abuse prevention.

What we do with it

We use customer events to build cohorts, surface retention risk, and propose interventions inside your workspace. Recommendations are generated per workspace and never reused across customers.

Who we share it with

Subprocessors required to run the service:

• Supabase — database, auth, storage (EU-West)
• Vercel — hosting
• Resend — transactional email

Each is bound by their own privacy and data-handling commitments. We don't share data with marketing partners. We don't sell data.

Where it lives

Database and storage on Supabase (EU-West, Ireland by default). Static assets and serverless functions on Vercel. US-East and self-hosted options available on the Scale plan.

Your rights

Access, export, or delete your data anytime by emailing hello@folio.app. We answer within 30 days. EU/UK residents have the rights described in the GDPR; California residents under the CCPA.

Cookies

The marketing site and operator console use cookies for authentication (Supabase session). The browser SDK stores a folio_did distinct-id in localStorage and a folio_sid session id in sessionStorage on your customers' devices.

Children

Folio isn't directed at people under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We'll email you about material changes 14 days before they take effect.
